SMU CIRCLE Award
Yi Hang made many outstanding contributions to the University. He was head of the SMU Law Society, part of the SMU Ambassadorial Corps, and won international mooting competitions. He represented the student body in events such as the Open House and a ceremony renaming the school after the late Dr Yong Pung How.
Yi Hang also actively participated in community service, both locally at various pro bono centres and overseas in a community service trip to the Philippines. As President of the SMU Law Society, he encouraged collegiality by initiating student welfare events, and co-organising an inaugural freshmen welcome seminar involving law students coming together to speak on areas including studies, career-related matters, and student life.
He demonstrated sound leadership qualities and embraced excellence by publishing research articles in local and international law journals and heading a participating team in a mooting competition.
